Q:

1.) Use the formula SA=6s², where SA is the surface area and s is the edge length of the cube, to solve this problem. The cube has an edge length of 4 in. What is the surface area?2.) Faye bought a rug in the shape shown.What is the area of the rug?A trapezoid having to dotted lines going down to the base, the height is 6 for one of them. B2= 3, 6 and 3 are at the bottom of the trapezoid making it the base. Though no B1.3.) Use the formula V=s³, where V is the volume and s is the edge length of the cube, to solve this problem.What is the volume of the cube?Enter your answer as a mixed number in simplest form.(The cube shows 2 1/2)

Accepted Solution

A:
1)
To find the Surface Area of a cube you do

SA = 6 x [tex] a^{2} [/tex] Where [tex a^{2} [/tex] is the side you know.

For this problem you take SA = 6 x [tex] 4^{2} [/tex]

SA = 6 x 4 x 4

SA = 6 x 16

SA = 96

I cannot help you on this, I have never been good with doing trapezoids.

3)
Volume = [tex] s^{3} [/tex]

Volume = 2[tex] \frac{1}{2} [/tex] ^ 3

Volume = 15[tex] \frac{5}{8} [/tex]
